Hi — we're Shubham & Varsha.

The orchard belongs to Shubham's family — an acre tucked into the Sahyadri foothills outside Kolhapur. Alphonso and Kesar trees that have flowered every February and fruited every May for longer than either of us has been alive. The harvest used to get handed off to whichever trader was buying that season. He grew up watching this happen, and not loving it.

We both work in software — the daytime kind, in Bangalore. The orchard is what happens when we close our laptops on Friday: a long drive south, hands in soil by Saturday morning. This is our first season selling direct. Until now, everything went to traders.

This isn't a plan to leave tech. It's an attempt to do something honest with a small piece of land, one season at a time. Hand-pick the fruit. Skip the calcium carbide. Pack boxes ourselves. Sell direct to people who want to eat a mango that tastes like a mango.

If we sell out, we'll know the proposition holds. If we don't, we'll eat a lot of mangoes ourselves. Either way, we wanted you to know who's behind the box showing up at your door.
